Beach Approach Image Beach Approach

ECI completes 7 beach approaches for a total of 25,000 feet installing 6 5/8 inch conduit as part of Hawaiian Islands - Inter-Island Undersea Fiber Optic Network.

River Crossing Image River Crossing

ECI completes 2,668 foot river crossing and pulls into place a 24-inch diameter water main installed 30 feet under the river bottom. The pipe string weighs an estimated 300,000 pounds (empty) and is one of the largest horizontal directional drilling (HDD) projects ever undertaken in Michigan.

River Crossing Image River Crossing

ECI completes 4280 foot crossing under the St. Lucie River and installs a 30 inch force main. The project team received "Project of the Year" award from the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers.

Mississippi River Crossing Image Mississippi River Crossing

ECI loosens a drill pipe abandoned by a previous driller, reams the hole and successfully installs a 12-inch steel product pipe 4994 feet under the Mississippi River.

Beach Approach Image Beach Approach

Our beach approach technique features drilling from land out to sea. To install conduit, designed to receive ocean utility cables. This study explores the third ECI project on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

River Crossing Image River Crossing

ECI completes 4400 foot crossing under the St. Lucie River and installs water pipeline in Martin County, Florida.

River Crossings Image River Crossings

Numerous river crossings have been performed to install utilities under environmentally sensitive waterways. This crossing under the St. Joseph's River features installing multiple conduit for communications utilities.

Wetlands Image Wetlands

Our sensitive wetland areas are preserved and protected using HDD. We accomplished a distance world record for our drilling in Savannah, Georgia, while drilling under wildlife preserve and wetland areas.

Fiber Optic Bundle Image Fiber Optic Bundle

Horizontal directional drilling has become the technology of choice for many challenging projects, including fiber optic installation. Increasingly, it is being used to save time, cut costs, and solve real-world problems. This project in Indiana is a fantastic example.

130° Lateral Turn Image 130° Lateral Turn

Tight radius lateral turns are possible using sophisticated HDD techniques. Our design and drilling in Connecticut included a 130 degree lateral turn to install communications cable.

Hospital Vacuum Tube System Image Hospital Vacuum Tube System

Inner-city vacuum tube systems can connect a hospital to a lab, literally saving lives. Our installation in South Bend, Indiana explores this exciting application of HDD in a busy urban setting.
